A Cornish Wedding

The Roseland Peninsula  provides  the perfect setting for a wedding and our houses are popular places to stay for the bride and groom , families of the bride and groom and wedding guests.

Stargazers, Moonrakers, Dreamcatchers and Shellseekers are all within walking distance of St Mawes Castle and Hotel Tresanton and Lamorran Gardens where many of the local weddings take place.

St Mawes Castle

St Mawes Castle is a perfectly preserved coastal fortress built by Henry V111. This Tudor Castle is the perfect setting for a majestic wedding. Stargazers is only 200metres and Moonrakers 500 metres from St Mawes Castle so wedding guests can easily walk to and from the event without worrying about taxis or transport !

Hotel Tresanton 

The Tresanton has a casual and elegant atmosphere in keeping with the seaside location which makes it a perfect wedding venue.Hotel Tresanton has a Civil License so marriages can take place at the hotel. Stargazers is situated next door but one to the rear entrance of the hotel which is accessed by steep steps down to the hotel. Alternatively it is only a five to ten minute walk down the road to the front entrance of the hotel ( and thats the long way round ! )

Lamorran Gardens

Lamorran Gardens are situated next door to Stargazers ! and only 5 minutes walk from Moonrakers.  Lamorran is one of "The Great Gardens of Cornwall" and boasts four acres of sub-tropical paradise planted with an adventurous range of plants that flourish in its waterside location. Guests are married in The Cupola situated in the middle of the garden with beautiful vistas over St Anthony's Headland and the lighthouse.

St Just in Roseland Church

St Just in Roseland Church is probably Cornwalls most photographed church and arguably its most beautiful. The 13th century St Justus Church is built right beside the water on a tidal creek. The vegetation in this sheltered spot is virtually tropical.Fuschias, hydrangeas, lilies and many exotic shrubs. There are paths leading through the church gardens with rhodendrons, camelias, azaleas, bamboos, wild garlic and bluebells. St Just in Roseland Church is only a ten minute car journey from St Mawes.

Gerrans Church 

The present church of St Gerendus dates from the 13th century. Like many Cornish churches its Octagonal spire acts as an important daymark to those navigating the nearby waters. Gerrans Church is a fifteen to twenty minute car journey from St Mawes.

Eden Project

The Eden Project is only 18 miles and 45 minutes drive away from St Mawes.

The Eden Project offers a galaxy of spectacular settings in which couples can say I do ! You can get married at the very top of the Rainforest Biome amid the lush foliage of the jungle or in the fragrant surroundings of the Mediterranean Biome. For something truly special after dark receptions can be held in the Mediterranean Biome. During the Winter months adventurous couples can don their skates and tie the knot on the rink !
